Designing and Structuring your Business

We will meet with you and discuss your operations and future goals.  We will help you make decisions as to the proper structure of your business and actually handle the tasks of getting your company up and going or developed into the entity that best meets your long term goals.

Tax Planning to Minimize Taxes

The difference between tax evasion and tax avoidance is tax planning…and,Federal Judge Learned Hand said in Helvering vs Gregory 69F (2d Cir.1934), “anyone may so arrange his affairs that his taxes shall be as low as possible: he is not bound to choose that pattern which will best pay the treasury: there is not even a patriotic duty to increase one’s taxes.”

This Case was affirmed by the U. S. Supreme Court in Gregory vs Helvering, 293 U. S. 454 (1935).  The U. S. Supreme Court further agreed, “The Legal right of a taxpayer to decrease the amount of what otherwise would be his taxes, or altogether avoid them by means which the law permits, cannot be doubted.”

Asset Protection

Tax planning, therefore, is an integral part of our duty to work with you as your financial tax and accounting firm.   As a small business shareholder, director or officer, you need to design your business affairs so as to compliment your personal financial goals.  In doing so, you may need to consider asset protection plans and estate plans that will make your financial life easier for your family to inherit whether they sell or maintain operations. Where our abilities end, our referring associates begin. We can help you design a plan of asset protection and when challenged, we can bring in legal associates to help round out the plan to its most effective benefit to you and your needs. If you prefer, we’ll happily sit with your attorney of choice and make suggestions for designing a plan that is both tax friendly as well as friendly in other ways.

Budgeting and Estimated Tax Payments

Financial Statements are generated by our accounting services.  As a tool, this valuable set of reports can help you manage and lead your business towards its goals. Budgeting is a critical part of management.  The key is not to have too strict a budget that will only cause one to fall away from the budgeted goals.  Estimated tax payments for both business and personal obligations are an integral part of budgeting and setting projections.  We can do this FOR you or we can WORK WITH YOU in doing this necessary part of financial management.

Income Taxes

Income tax preparation is an annual reporting that is required by just about every country in the world.  In the United States, there are state returns in many states, and even local returns that range from city returns, school district returns and multiple types of sales tax and excise tax returns for every different type of entity you can imagine having created for doing business.  We prepare all these types of returns.  We use the numbers you give us or we handle the books for your entity and pull from our own audited or un-audited numbers to generate such returns.   We can advise you as to which governments you must make a reporting for your business and for your personal and family situations.  We can advise you as to how to treat various dependents, young or older, in reporting your income and expenses to such agencies.
